It was just one year ago that Dr. Samantha Delaney received the mysterious trunk from an unknown sender. I enjoy books that capture my interest in the first couple of pages. This book did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed traveling all over Europe and the U.S. with the characters. It even made me want to go and visit some of these places myself. Some I had actually already visited and loved the author’s insight.
This is a book that will hold your interest throughout because it is filled with colorful characters...and a very interesting story line.
The author has combined romance, mystery, and intrigue, into a compelling story of crime and treachery. Her continued development of the characters from her first novel allows the reader to connect and appreciate their ongoing struggles. Her obvious first-hand knowledge with the locales, customs, and culinary delights weave their way throughout the book and her clear and vibrant descriptions sparked personal memories of travel to the same regions. This second book by this inspired author is definitely worth a read and leaves one anticipating Sam and Brett's further adventures.
Another amazing journey! I read it in two days as it kept me captivated. I am already looking forward to the sequel. Well done, JL!
I loved loved loved this sequel to The Purloined Legacy. The Perilous Legacy has so many suspenseful twists and turns that it keeps the reader on the edge of the seat. I rate this book 5 stars and highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a good mystery and a fantastic reading. I cannot wait to see what this author does next.

The Perilous Legacy is a captivating sequel to The Purloined Legacy, detailing new adventures in Dr. Samantha Delaney’s quest to rectify century-old wrongdoings against the financial holdings of the Delaney lineage. Like its predecessor, author J.L. Phelan weaves together a well-written, suspenseful novel pitting Dr. Delaney’s ingenuity against determined, evil forces from the past. I have fully embraced the author's artfully-created characters and can only hope this series continues.
In The Perilous Legacy, J Phelan crafted an intriguing tale spanning decades and 3 continents, from the emerald green fields of cork, Ireland to the grape laden vineyards of the south of France to the bustling streets of New York and San Francisco. It is a story of betrayal and love, life and death. At times I could not turn the pages fast enough. A great book to read at the beach or just relaxing on a Sunday afternoon. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it highly. Sally
The Perilous Legacy picks up where the prequel (The Purloined Legacy) ends. Even though the Perilous Legacy stands alone as a really enjoyable read, I do recommend reading the Purloined Legacy first (both books are wonderful)!
This is a really captivating story that spins an artfully labyrinthine plot through different historical eras all around the world. The story flows rapidly and smoothly through equal measures of intrigue and action! J. L. Phelan creates palpable tension throughout all of the action, that kept me on the edge of my seat!

I really recommend reading the first book in this series too.
